Type
TXT
Name
_dmarc
Text
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com
  • Roll out in phases: p=none (reports only), then p=quarantine, then p=reject, raising pct gradually.

We only read public DNS records. Nothing is stored.

Common mistakes with Zoho Mail on Squarespace Domains

Using US MX values for a non-US account

The MX domain ending changes with your Zoho data center. If you signed up in the EU, India or another region, copy the values from your Admin Console.

Keeping old MX records with a low number

Records from a previous provider with equal or higher priority (such as 0 or 5) can stop mail reaching Zoho. Delete them.

Squarespace Domains: Change your Squarespace login first

If you sign in to Squarespace with an address at this domain, change your account email before deleting MX records, or you could lock yourself out.

Squarespace Domains: SPF entries are merged for you

Each SPF value added as its own custom record is merged into one SPF record. Refresh the page to see the merged result. If you get a Custom records not saved error, delete the existing SPF records and add them again.

Squarespace Domains: Only one DMARC record

A domain can have only one DMARC record. Email forwarding rules add one automatically, so merge into it rather than adding a second.

3 more Zoho Mail mistakes to avoid

Zoho Mail on Squarespace Domains: questions

Is Squarespace’s Zoho Mail preset right for my account?

The preset adds mx.zoho.com, mx2.zoho.com and mx3.zoho.com, a general configuration. Zoho says the values for your domain are in the Zoho Admin Console. If yours are different (for example a zoho.eu account), delete the preset and add the MX records as custom records.

Where do I add Zoho Mail DNS records in Squarespace Domains?

Open the domains dashboard (account.squarespace.com/domains). Click your domain. Click DNS, then DNS Settings. Add each record there, one at a time.

What goes in the Name field at Squarespace Domains?

Enter @ for records on your bare domain, such as MX and SPF. For the others, enter only the part before your domain, for example _dmarc. Squarespace Domains adds your domain automatically.

Do I need to delete my existing MX records at Squarespace Domains?

Remove existing MX records first. Records from a previous provider with equal or higher priority (such as 0 or 5) can stop mail reaching Zoho. If you sign in to Squarespace with an address at this domain, change your account email before deleting MX records, or you could lock yourself out.

Can Zoho Mail add the records at Squarespace Domains for me?

Squarespace has presets that add email records for Google Workspace and Zoho Mail. Preset records can only be deleted, not edited.

How long until Zoho Mail works on Squarespace Domains?

Zoho’s Squarespace guide says to allow at least an hour for the verification CNAME, then verify after an hour or two. Squarespace says DNS changes can take 24 to 48 hours to update.
