Step by step in Hostinger
Point your MX records
MX records tell other mail servers where to deliver your email. How MX works
- Type
- MX
- Name
-
@ - Priority
- 5
- Mail server
-
mx1.hostinger.com
- Hostinger's manual guide uses the host's default TTL.
- Type
- MX
- Name
-
@ - Priority
- 10
- Mail server
-
mx2.hostinger.com
In Hostinger
- In Manage DNS records, choose MX as the type.
- Enter @ as the Name, your provider's mail server, and the Priority. Keep the default TTL unless your provider asks otherwise.
- Click Add Record.
- Repeat for each MX record above.
Add the SPF record
SPF lists the services allowed to send email as you. How SPF works
- Type
- TXT
- Name
-
@ - TXT value
-
v=spf1 include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com ~all
- Keep a single SPF record. If you also use a marketing or sending service, merge it into the same line, for example v=spf1 include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com include:emailmktprovider.tld ~all.
- When moving DNS manually, delete any old SPF record before adding this one.
In Hostinger
- In Manage DNS records, choose TXT as the type.
- Enter the Name (@ for the root, or only the prefix such as _dmarc) and the TXT value.
- Click Add Record.
Set up DKIM
DKIM signs your mail so receivers can trust it. How DKIM works
- Type
- CNAME
- Name
-
hostingermail-a._domainkey - Content
-
hostingermail-a.dkim.mail.hostinger.com
- Type
- CNAME
- Name
-
hostingermail-b._domainkey - Content

hostingermail-b.dkim.mail.hostinger.com
- Type
- CNAME
- Name
-
hostingermail-c._domainkey - Content
-
hostingermail-c.dkim.mail.hostinger.com
In Hostinger
- In Manage DNS records, choose CNAME as the type.
- Enter the name (only the prefix) and the content your provider gives you.
- Click Add Record.
- Repeat for each CNAME record above.
Add the DMARC record (recommended)
DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fakes your domain. How DMARC works
- Type
- TXT
- Name
-
_dmarc - TXT value
-
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com
- Replace the report address with a mailbox you read.
In Hostinger
- In Manage DNS records, choose TXT as the type.
- Enter the Name (@ for the root, or only the prefix such as _dmarc) and the TXT value.
- Click Add Record.
Check your setup
Once the records are saved, run a live check. We look up your domain in public DNS and tell you what is right, missing or wrong, with the fix in Hostinger’s words.
Common mistakes with Hostinger Email on Hostinger
Adding a second SPF record
Hostinger says a domain should have a single SPF record. Merge every sender into one line.
Adding only one DKIM record
Hostinger Email uses three DKIM CNAME records: hostingermail-a, -b and -c. Add all three.
Hostinger: Clear out old email records
Hostinger recommends removing any existing MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records that point to other email services, because conflicting records cause delivery problems.
Hostinger Email on Hostinger: questions
Where do I add Hostinger Email DNS records in Hostinger?
In hPanel, go to Domains and click Manage next to your domain. Open DNS / Nameservers on the left. Use the Manage DNS records section. Add each record there, one at a time.
What goes in the Name field at Hostinger?
Enter @ for records on your bare domain, such as MX and SPF. For the others, enter only the part before your domain, for example hostingermail-a._domainkey. Hostinger adds your domain automatically.
Do I need to delete my existing MX records at Hostinger?
Yes. Sending servers pick an MX record by its priority (lowest number first) and fall back to the others, so a leftover MX record can receive some or all of your mail. Keep only the Hostinger Email MX records and delete the rest. Hostinger recommends removing any existing MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records that point to other email services, because conflicting records cause delivery problems.
Where do I get my Hostinger Email DKIM record?
Use the value shown in the table on this page.
How long until Hostinger Email works on Hostinger?
